A real Scalus client

Josh runs the tools. I run his website.

Josh owns 22 Electrical Works, a small licensed team working across Melbourne's east. He already had a website. It was not bringing him work. So I built him a proper one, put a quote flow on the front of it and wired it into the job management system he already uses, so the jobs he finishes show up on his site by themselves.

This is not a screenshot. It is his real site, loaded inside this page. Scroll it, open the menu, run the quote flow the way one of his customers would. Switch it to a phone and see what most people actually get.

In his words

What Josh actually said

Not a written review someone typed for him. This is straight off the video above.

"Tim jumped straight on board and helped me straight away. He got the website up and I'm stoked with it."

Josh · 22 Electrical Works

"The look of the website is super interactive, which is what I wanted."

Josh · 22 Electrical Works

"It's so easy for my clients to be able to get a quote that I don't have to worry about any of it."

Josh · 22 Electrical Works

"Tim's support is second to none. He started a WhatsApp group with me and he's super responsive."

Josh · 22 Electrical Works

"I've had to push back dates and he's been understanding and straight away answers. So it's been awesome."

Josh · 22 Electrical Works

"He's been super proactive with helping us."

The build

What I actually made him

Three things carry this site: the site itself, the quote flow on the front of it, and the live job feed wired into the back of it.

A website built around the work he wants

Josh wanted residential work close to home, so the site is built for it. His own photos, his own words, and a page for every service and every suburb he covers, written with things only a local would know rather than the same paragraph with the suburb name swapped in.

Tap the preview to open the real site full screen, or scroll back up to the live window and have a proper look through it.

  • 28 pages, every service and every suburb he works
  • Built to be found when a local searches for a sparky
  • His enquiries land in his inbox the second they come in
The three step quote flow on the 22 Electrical Works website

A quote flow that does the asking for him

This is the bit Josh singled out. Instead of a contact form that says "message us", the front of his site walks a customer through three quick steps: what they need done, a few details about the job, then how to reach them. It takes about thirty seconds.

By the time it reaches Josh he already knows what the job is and where it is, so he can price it or call back without a round of questions first. In his words, he does not have to worry about any of it.

  • Three steps, about thirty seconds, no obligation
  • The job type and the suburb arrive with every enquiry
  • Nothing for Josh to chase or set up

His job management system, wired into his website

Josh already runs every job through ServiceM8. So I connected it to his website. When he closes off a job, that job appears on his site on its own, with the real photo he took, the type of work and the suburb. No names, no addresses, nothing private ever leaves the system.

The counters on his site are wired to the same feed, so the number of jobs he has completed climbs by itself. Josh does not upload anything, does not write anything and does not remember to do anything. He just does the work.

  • Real finished jobs, with his own photos, updating on their own
  • Customer names and addresses never touch the website
  • Proof he is genuinely working nearby, kept current without him

The 22 Electrical Works website on a phone

Almost everyone finds him on a phone

So the phone version is the one I design first, not the one I shrink down afterwards. His number is a tap away from anywhere on the site, the quote flow is built for thumbs, and nothing slides sideways or needs pinching to read.

Same site, same speed, whether someone lands on it standing in their kitchen with a dead switchboard or sitting at a desk.

The bit that is hard to put on a website

You get me, not a ticket number

I go out and meet the teams I work with. I see the trucks, the jobs and how the work actually runs, because that is the only way to build a site that fits it rather than one that looks nice and gets in the way.

I am in Melbourne, Josh has my number and a WhatsApp group, and when something needs changing he tells me and it gets changed. No account manager, no portal, no queue.

Questions, answered

Is it really $225 a month?
Yes. $225/month, month to month. No build fee, no setup cost, and you can cancel any time.
Can you wire my system in like you did for Josh?
Usually yes. Josh runs ServiceM8 and I have done the same for other trades on it. If you run something else, tell me what it is and I will tell you honestly whether it can talk to a website. If it cannot, I will say so rather than sell you something that will not work.
Who actually looks after my site?
Tim, based right here in Melbourne's east. I handle the builds and look after your site directly. Josh has my number and a WhatsApp group. You get the same.
What if I already have a website?
So did Josh. If yours is not bringing you work, that is the thing worth fixing. Leave your details and I will have a proper look at what you have got and tell you straight what is wrong with it.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Everything is month to month. Stay as long as it is working for you, leave whenever you like.
Do I own the website?
Your domain, your content, your photos, your accounts and the design of your site are yours, and they leave with you along with a full export of your enquiries and data. The code base itself stays with Scalus while you are on the monthly plan, because there is no build fee and nothing to pay up front, so the build is carried by me and paid off over the months you stay.
What happens if I stop paying?
Everything is month to month, so you give one month's notice and everything of yours comes with you. What stops is the part I run for you: hosting, support, maintenance, security, the chat bot and the other integrations. No lock in and no exit fee.
What if I am not satisfied?
I will do everything I can to make it right. If I still cannot, I will cancel your subscription straight away, and your site stays live for another 14 days so nothing drops off overnight.

Want one like Josh's?

Leave your details and I will reach out about creating something like this for your business. I will have a look at what you have got now, then call you back and tell you straight where it stands. If you do not have a website yet, even better, we start clean.
