Are you actually local, or is this a franchise thing?
I am a web developer based in Ringwood and I work from here. There is no office, no team of account managers and no head office somewhere else. When you deal with Scalus you are dealing with me. That is also why the list of suburbs above is short. It is the area I genuinely cover.
Is it really $225 a month?
Yes. $225 a month, month to month. No setup fee, and you can cancel with 30 days notice.
Who actually looks after my site once it is live?
Me. I handle the build and then I keep looking after it. Available 9 to 5 Monday to Friday in the Scalus App or on the phone. It is one to one, so there is no support queue and no ticket number.
Will I have editor access?
Not directly, and that is deliberate. Send me the change and I do it for you. You never have to learn a page builder or worry about breaking something. Most of my clients send me a message in the Scalus App and get on with their day.
What if I already have a website?
Most of my clients did. Josh had one. It just was not bringing him work. If yours is not earning its keep, that is the thing worth fixing. Leave your details and I will have a proper look at what you have got and tell you straight what is wrong with it.
Will it actually get found on Google?
It gets built properly, indexed, and structured so Google and the answer tools can read it. Nobody can promise you position one, and I will not. What I can tell you is that a huge number of small business sites are not even indexed, so they cannot rank at all. Fixing that is where it starts.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Everything is month to month. Stay as long as it is working for you. Cancel with 30 days notice.
Do I own the website?
You own your content, your photos, and all of your contacts and data, and if you cancel they leave with you on 30 days notice. If you want to keep your website's design and code, it is a one off $850. What does not come with the design and code is the SEO and AI Search work, the hosting, updates, support and the connected systems, like the enquiry forms, live chat, missed call text back, review system and lead notifications, which run on Scalus hosting and would need replacing elsewhere. It is an ongoing service rather than a one off build that dates in a year or two, so while you are with me you get one to one support and your site keeps being updated, which you can follow at scalus.app/updates/. It is set out in the
terms.
What happens if I stop paying?
If a payment fails, your site stays up for up to 14 days while I sort it out with you, then it is paused until you pay. To leave, give 30 days notice in writing and everything of yours comes with you. What stops is the part I run for you: hosting, support, maintenance, security, the chat bot and the other integrations. No lock in. Keeping your website's design and code is a one off $850 if you want it.
What if I am not satisfied?
I will do everything I can to make it right. If I still cannot, I will cancel your subscription straight away, and your site stays live for another 14 days so nothing drops off overnight.
What is the catch with the price?
Two things to know. Your business phone number and text messages are billed at the prices on our phone system page, you can use your own domain or take Scalus Domain at $10 a month, and keeping your website's design and code is a one off $850 if you want it. Beyond that, I build and manage websites on my own systems, so I can offer a full, looked after site for a flat monthly price instead of a big cheque upfront.
