Your Google Business Profile, sorted from the app

The Your posts section of Google Business in the Scalus app: auto approve and pause switches, and a carousel with the next post and the one lined up, each with a tick and an X

When someone searches for a plumber, a dentist or a panel beater near them, the first thing they see is not a website. It is the Google Business Profile: the photos, the hours, the reviews and the button to call. Most of the profiles I look at are half done, and the owner has no idea.

The problem

A client asked me this week whether his profile was right. It had a stretched logo, two categories missing, half his services left out and hours that had not been updated since he moved. None of it was his fault. Google buries these settings, and a business owner has better things to do than hunt through them. The profile that brings in the calls was the one thing nobody was looking after.

The result

There is now a Google Business item in the menu of the Scalus app. Open it and it explains what your profile does for you and asks you to connect it, in four short steps.

The Scalus Google Business Profile Audit shown as included in your plan, with a tick beside logo, photos, categories and services
The profile that brings in the calls is now looked after, and every post on it is one you said yes to.

The screens in the pictures are the real ones, shown with a sample business. It is being switched on business by business from today. If you want it in your app, send me a message there and I will turn it on.

Want this in your app?

Clients can ask for it in the app today. Not a client yet? The website, the app and the systems behind them are one plan, month to month.

Questions about this feature

Do I lose control of my Google Business Profile?
No. You add Scalus as a manager, and a manager cannot add or remove people or delete your profile. You stay the owner and can remove the access any time from People and access in your profile.
What does the audit cover?
Your logo, your cover and the photos from your Scalus shoot if you had one, your main and extra categories, every service you offer with a short description, your description, hours, service areas, phone number and website link, all checked against your site. It is included in your plan.
Can I stop a post I do not like?
Yes. Every upcoming post has an X. Tap it and that post never goes out. Auto approve is off until you turn it on, and even then you can pause all posting or stop Maintenance from the page.
