A safe place for your keys and your photo folder
Two things kept happening. When a business wanted their job system connected to their Scalus app, the key that does it would arrive by email or text, and sit in an inbox from then on. And when someone asked for a photo on their website, the answer was often "it's in my folder", then a hunt for the right one and a big file sent over by text.
What I built
There is now an Integrations section in the Scalus app. It does two things.
- Paste a key once. The account owner pastes the key from their job system straight into the app instead of sending it to me. It is kept encrypted, and once it is saved only dots and the last four characters ever show. You can change it or remove it whenever you like, and removing it means we stop using it straight away.
- Share your photo folder once. If your photos already live in a cloud folder, you share that one folder with tim@scalus.app, paste its link into the app and press I've shared it. The card says Connected once we can see it, and Waiting until then.
Once a folder says Connected, I can find the photo you mean in it without you sending it. Say "use the one of the van outside the last job" and I go and look.
Paste it once. Share it once. No more keys in inboxes or photos over text.
What we can and cannot do
- We only look at the one folder you share, and we can never change or delete anything in it.
- I am told when a folder is added, shared, changed or removed.
- Removing it in the app stops us looking straight away. To stop sharing it completely, also remove tim@scalus.app from the folder, or turn its link off.
- If you stop sharing it later, the card goes back to Waiting within a day.
What you need to do
Nothing, unless you want to. When you are ready, open Integrations from the menu in your Scalus app.
