Full Moon Tattoos has been inking Melbourne from Chapel Street since 2008 — premium custom work that runs the full range from traditional to modern. For a studio like this, the work is the pitch. Photos of finished pieces sell far harder than any paragraph of copy ever could, but their digital presence wasn't letting the art lead.
They needed a site that felt like walking into a serious parlour: dark, considered, gallery-first — with a clear path from "I love that piece" to a booked custom session, and somewhere to prep clients before they sit in the chair.
We built the whole experience around the craft. The studio's story and the parlour itself get their own space, framed in a dark, gallery treatment that puts the ink front and centre — so the work reads as art, not as a service listing.
The centrepiece is the work: a portfolio section that showcases the artists' range from traditional to modern. It's the first thing a prospective client wants to see, so it does the heavy lifting — letting the tattoos speak before a single line of copy has to.
Browsing is only half of it. We added a guided booking flow that walks someone from inspiration to an enquiry, plus a dedicated session-prep section so clients arrive ready — calmer for them, smoother for the artists. Concept directions were presented in an on-brand chooser so the studio could pick the look that felt most like them.
When the work is the product, the website's only job is to get out of its way and let the art lead.
