Ring our demo line and hear it answer

· 2 min read · Tim McCartney

The Scalus phone system page with the Hear it: ring 0420 117 225 button above a phone showing an incoming call from a customer

The Scalus phone system answers the calls you can’t get to and writes each one up for you. Now you can hear it for yourself on a demo line anyone can ring: 0420 117 225.

The problem

Telling a business owner their calls will be answered and written up only goes so far. What they really want to know is how it sounds to their customers, and what lands on their phone once the call is over. A page of words can’t show either.

The result

Ring 0420 117 225 from your mobile. It answers for Tallow Creek Plumbing, a made up plumbing business, so pretend you’re a customer with a job, like a leaking hot water system or a blocked drain.

One of my test calls came through like this:

Sarah, Ringwood. Hot water system leaking in the laundry. Today.

For a real business, that write up goes to you or your office minutes after the call ends, so you ring back with the job already in front of you. The same button is on the phone system page, so you can hear it before you ask about a number of your own.

Hear it for yourself

Ring from your mobile and pretend you need a plumber. Clients can ask me for a number of their own in the app chat.

Questions about this feature

What do I need to ring it?
Just an Australian mobile with your number showing. The write up is sent by text, so it only reaches a mobile.
Is the call recorded?
Yes. Calls and texts on the demo line are recorded, and I may reach out afterwards. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
What does it cost for my business?
A business number is $20 a month. Texts are 15c each, calls that ring through to you are 35c a minute once you have agreed to that price, and Scalus Voicemail, which answers when you can’t, is 55c a minute. Prices include GST.
